Who is RJ Thomas


RJ Thomas is an eclectic, dynamic and engaging therapist who meets each client where they are. His training has provided him with theories, interventions and orientations but it his life experience that has helped him develop empathy and caring toward others. He has worked with individuals, adolescents, couples and families from all walks of life and is experienced in helping people cope when life becomes difficult, confusing or overwhelming.

As a father and husband he understands the joys and struggles of family, work and life. As an individual he understands the desire to find meaning and purpose and has dedicated himself to building relationships with his clients that allow them to find their own paths in life.  

 He is writer, podcaster and filmmaker. He is passionate about (and is teaching his kids) surfing, sailing and ice hockey.

RJ has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Washington and Lee University in Virginia and Master's Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. He has done post-graduate training with children and adolescents and family systems at Airport Marina Counseling Service, one of the premiere training facilities in Los Angeles County.
